Self-Study

“If you seek success in this world, seek knowledge; if you seek success in the Hereafter, seek knowledge. All our progress depends on how we learn.”— Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismael

The best kind of learning—the one that truly builds a person’s intellect—is self-study. Anyone who wants to understand the world must learn and teach themselves. Life in this world has no real value without knowledge to guide it, awareness that opens the mind, and wisdom that sharpens the intellect.

“Books do not merely fill free time; books fill empty minds.”
Ahmad Fatxi

In the age we live in, there are many ways to educate yourself and advance your life. Scholars, intellectuals, philosophers, and visionaries are people who took it upon themselves to learn independently. Self-education is not optional—it is essential. No one can truly teach you unless you first commit to teaching yourself seriously.

Each book you read today adds knowledge you did not have yesterday. The more you read, the more your knowledge multiplies. Every moment you spend reading strengthens your intellect and refines your understanding into something clear and authentic. A person who understands how the world works is someone who has built themselves well.

We live in a century where knowledge is the battlefield. Whoever possesses more knowledge is stronger than their opponent. The greatest weapon you can use in any arena of life is knowledge.

“Visualization is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you desire what you imagine, and finally you create what you desire.”
Gergio Barnard Show

Education today is no longer limited to classrooms or physical attendance. To keep pace with the world, you must educate yourself mentally and intellectually. We live in an era where a person can learn almost anything without going anywhere or wasting time in traditional institutions. Both religious and worldly knowledge can be acquired independently.

“Life itself is your teacher, and you are in a constant state of learning.”
Bruce Lee

No matter how busy you are, there is no excuse to abandon self-study. Who you truly are depends on how you educate yourself and how you interpret life. To become an effective intellectual, you do not necessarily need to attend an institution—what matters is how you teach yourself.

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
Albert Einstein

Experience and wisdom are not taught in schools or universities; they are gained through self-learning and through how you engage with life. A person who does not understand their own mind cannot understand the philosophy of life. But one who understands their intellect understands life itself.

Create time for self-study so that your actions bear meaningful results.
“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never stop growing.”
Anthony J. D’Angelo

One hour of study per day will place you among the top in your field within three years. In five years, you will become innovative. In seven years, you can be among the best in the world at what you do.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Dr. Seuss

The greatest form of knowledge is learning about Almighty God, who created the world and everything within it. When you understand your Creator, both your worldly life and your Hereafter become easier. True knowledge removes harmful traits, transforms your behavior, and reshapes your way of thinking.

“True knowledge is the one that changes your character and leads you toward positive creativity. If what you learn does not transform your mindset and personality, then you have not yet acquired the knowledge you need.”

Knowledge is the garment that beautifies human dignity. As long as you live, never grow tired of seeking more knowledge. Knowledge is not limited to what is written on a board. For example, there is no lion that does not know how to hunt, yet no lion has ever attended school. This shows that there are many ways to learn.
Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismael

The world today is like a single village. At any time, if you are ready, you can access all kinds of knowledge—even if you currently stand on the ground of ignorance. By investing a small portion of your time consistently, you can reach the highest levels of knowledge. But remember: knowledge never ends. You must always keep learning.

Do not be a passive intellectual who adds nothing new. Be someone who practices knowledge and contributes to it. Even a single missing letter can be a higher rank—so seek it. Do not grow lazy, do not stop, do not age before your time. Let the pursuit of knowledge be your enjoyment. Make it your companion, not your loneliness.

There is no mind that cannot be developed and no intellect that cannot be trained. Only one thing is required: belief in your ability to learn. Wherever you move in this world, you will encounter both religious and worldly knowledge. At every stage of life, it is your duty to be a seeker of knowledge.

Do not waste time on what brings no benefit—educate yourself.

“He who does not travel, who does not read, who does not know how to use his eyes, dies slowly.”
Pablo Neruda
